Francis Bacon

Who was the artist that had his studio replicated in a Dublin museum?

It was in the Georgian area of Dublin. Unpretentiously going to work at the time I saw a painting portraying this man with the following quote: "All colours agree in the dark." By then knew that Francis Bacon was an irish painting artist who had his studio in London replicated at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin.

Bacon's creative process was in the midst of chaos. Where people sees a mess, he saw opportunity to connect with his skilful hability to draw and paint. The Hugh Lane collection holds some of his painting. There is also a video documentary interviewing him. I have not learned as much as I'd like about his life and career.

He left a work that dialogues with expressionism, surrealism and cubism art peridos.

Complete quote

Later I found out where it came from the verse, ''all colours agree in the dark.'' To me is inspiring.

“There be also two false peaces, or unities: the one, when the peace is grounded upon an implicit ignorance; for all colours will agree in the dark: the other, when it is pieced up upon a direct admission of contraries in fundamental points: for truth and falsehood in such things are like the iron and clay in the toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s image: they may cleave, but they will not incorporate.
