First line of my book

Visiting MoLI was a joy. The museum offers an immersion in Irish literature and poetry. Being a non-published writer made me compelled to learn more about the place. There with help of the muses I wrote a piece of poem in English. Is interesting when you create art not from your mother tongue.

The first line of my book would be thought provocative: "here I am an Atlantic Ocean of distance from home knowing nothing of swimming nor navigating either tormented seas or souls, yet I came."

You can find details about MoLI museum on the link above. And bellow, I'd like to share a recited poem I heard from Nithy Kasa exhibited on screen while I was there.

Nithy Kasa short bio:

" There once was a man who knew each tree by name, a forest whisperer, he would lay an ear like a stethoscope against the trunks as if there were rabbits to hear it... He spoke fluent forestry, and knew forest elements.."

I know its beyond time to read Irish poets and writers. What about you, what would be the first line of your book?
