This edgy hotel contemplates music, visual arts from multiple artists and on its enormous stairway wall a mural painting of Bono and The Edge mad by the artist Fin DAC.
The Gibson Hotel is a four star stylish hotel. Located in the North Walls of Docklands in front of 3 Arena. It has the Hemi Demi Bar and the Coda Eatery restaurant open for residents, locals and visitors. The hotel holds along its corridors, public areas, bathrooms and even bathrooms, a vast art collection from multiple artists, including giant painting of Bono from U2 band made by Fin DAC.
“Fin DAC or Finbarr Notte is an Irish painter from Cork. Well know for its depiction of Eurasian women in his graffiti art. He believes that "Inspiration is a gift from the universe, talent is an ability to bring it to fruition and humility is what you should achieve when you share it."
Street art
The magnitude of Fin DAC's work of U2 integrants on The Gibson Hotel walls reminded me the workstyle of a Brazilian urban painter named Kobra. Both paint ethnic motives on walls. Using those scale that request ladders, time and a team work for completion.
It is just sublime how street art can make conversation with private spaces in Dublin City. Another address worth to mention when it comes to urban art is the Hendrick Hotel in Smithfield which also holds an art collection in its facilities.
